Parlor Shows were performed during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries listed as “Soirees.” These small exclusive shows were often performed in the drawing room, parlor rooms of affluent individuals.

Parlor magic provided a unique opportunity and a chance for people to experence the wonders of the magician’s art of sleight of hand in a more intimate setting — a setting in which the audience becomes a part of the performance.

On February 24, 2011 Corporate Entertainer, Keynote Speaker, and Comedian Magician Gary Roberts was part of the Express Conference held in Orlando Florida. This was a four day conferences for Express Employment Franchise Companies.

Gary was the magic consultant and actor for the Thursday opening session. Founder and CEO Mr. Funk delivered the keynote speech explaining the success of the company over the past year. Gary Roberts Florida based Comedian Magician and Keynote Speaker walked out on stage to over 700 people reading a newspaper. Mr. Funk immediately noticed that Gary was on stage reading the newspaper, he proceeded to made commitments about how the news was full of negative headlines. He then took Gary’s paper tearing it up and magically restored it with the headline “Express up 46%”.

The audience loved it and Mr. Funk and Corporate Entertainer Gary Roberts were a big hit.

Spectacular illusions and magic at the International Brotherhood of Magicians Ring 81 Stars of Magic Gala show on February 5th 2011. The show will also feature Michael Barron from the Kenneth Feld’s (Ringling’s Brothers Barnum Bailey’s) production of Disney Live: Mickey’s Magic Show. This is the largest touring family illusion show in the world.
Duane Laflin is the third Star of the show and will perform a number of his favorite illusions in the show. Duane is currently performing at the Grand Majestic Theater in Pigeon Forge Tennessee.

Comedian Magician / Comedy Stage Hypnotist/and Corporate Entertainer Gary Roberts dazzled and hypnotized everyone this past weekend at the New York Comedy Club in Boca Raton Florida. Friday and Saturday nights were sold out to packed audiences. Each show had 12 people on stage and after being hypnotized they became the stars of the show. They were fun and very entertaining shows. I look forward to going back to the New York Comedy Club.

This Friday Gary Roberts will be the Keynote Speaker at the Gold Coast Toastmaster 50th anniversary of their club. He will speak on the Laff-Factor and performing amazing magic.
